Field Day

Field Day will be held Thursday June, 28th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend this FREE event! A light meal will be served and there is no registration required. Come check out what is new at Dakota Lakes. 

Tours for the day include:

  • Winter wheat, field pea, and lentil variety trials presented by Sunisch Sehgal (SDSU), Chris Graham (SDSU),  and Emily Paul (Pulse USA)
  • SDSU Mesonet, including some new features such as the spray tool and inversion predictor presented by Nathan Edwards (manager).
  • Herbicide drift symptoms, grazing and native pasture restoration work, the impact of field fires and damage mitigation, and protecting our soils from wind erosion events presented by Ruth Beck (SDSU), Cody Zilverberg (Dakota Lakes/SDSU), Jose Guzman (Dakota Lakes/SDSU), and Dwayne Beck (Dakota Lakes Manager/SDSU).
  • Long term rotations and no-till crop production presented by Jason Miller (USDA-NRCS)
